Jewellery size guide
Two minutes with a ruler saves you a return trip and a lot of second-guessing. Here is how to measure for everything we sell, and the lengths most people land on.
Ring size
The most reliable method is to measure a ring that already fits the same finger. Lay it flat and measure the inside edge to edge – that is the inside diameter.

No ring to measure? Wrap a thin strip of paper around the finger, mark where it overlaps, and measure the length in millimetres – that is the circumference. Three things worth knowing: fingers are at their largest at the end of the day, cold fingers measure smaller, and a wide band fits tighter than a thin one, so go up half a size for anything over 6 mm wide.
Chain and necklace length
- 16 inch – sits at the base of the neck, close to a choker on most adults.
- 18 inch – lands on the collarbone. The most commonly bought length.
- 20 inch – just below the collarbone, works well over a crew neck.
- 22 inch – top of the chest.
- 24 inch – mid chest, the usual starting point for a chain worn with a pendant.
- 30 inch – below the chest, worn long over clothing.
If you are pairing a chain with a pendant, add roughly two inches over the length you would wear on its own so the pendant sits where you expect.
Bracelets and anklets
Measure snugly around the wrist or ankle with a tape or a paper strip, then add room for comfort:
- Bracelet – add 1.5 cm for a close fit, 2 cm for a looser one. Most women take 17-19 cm, most men 20-22 cm.
- Anklet – add about 1.5 cm. Most people take 23-26 cm.
