Frequently asked questions

The questions we get asked across the counter, answered the way we would answer them in person. If yours is not here, ask us.

Where are your stores?

Four, all across the Greater Toronto Area: Bramalea City Centre in Brampton, Woodbine Mall in Etobicoke, Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga and Dufferin Mall in Toronto. Each store page carries the address, phone number and directions.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday 10:00am to 9:00pm, Saturday 9:30am to 9:00pm, Sunday 11:00am to 8:00pm – the same at all four stores. Mall holiday hours can differ, so ring ahead if you are travelling on a public holiday.

Can I order online right now?

Online checkout is switching back on shortly. Until it does, everything you can see here is in stock at our four stores, and we deliver across Canada. Found something you want in the meantime? Message us about it and we will sort it out.

Do you repair jewellery?

Yes, in store. Snapped chains, loose stones, clasps that have stopped closing – bring the piece to any of our four stores and we will look at it with you and tell you what can be done before you commit to anything. Plenty of things people assume are finished are not.

What metals do you sell?

Gold, sterling silver (925), stainless steel and 18k gold plated stainless steel. Every product page states the material. Our care and materials guide explains how each one behaves over years rather than weeks.

Is 18k gold plated stainless steel real gold?

The gold on the surface is real 18k gold. The core underneath is stainless steel rather than more gold, and that is the entire point. Solid gold is soft and priced accordingly; a plated steel piece gives you the same colour and finish on a metal that will not bend, dent or rust, for a fraction of the money. Treated sensibly – away from chlorine, perfume and abrasive polish – the finish lasts for years. If you would rather have solid gold or sterling silver, we sell those too, and the product page always says which is which.

Will gold plated jewellery turn my skin green?

Not from stainless steel. The green mark people remember comes from copper alloys reacting with skin and moisture – sterling silver contains a little copper and can occasionally do it too. Stainless steel does not, which is why we build most of the range on it, and why it is a safe bet if jewellery has let you down before.

Which watch brands do you carry?

Movado, Bulova, Citizen, Armani Exchange and Baby-G among others, all genuine and covered by the manufacturer warranty. The full range is on the watches page, and you can browse by brand from there.

How do I find my ring size?

Measure a ring that already fits the same finger and compare the inside diameter against the chart in our size guide. Two minutes with a ruler beats guessing. That page also covers chain lengths, bracelet fit and anklet sizing.

What chain length should I buy?

18 inches lands on the collarbone and is the length most people buy. 20 to 24 inches sits lower on the chest and is the usual starting point for a chain worn with a pendant. Full breakdown in the size guide.

How do I look after gold plated jewellery?

Put it on after perfume and lotion, take it off before swimming, and wipe it with a soft dry cloth when you take it off. Never use polishing compound or an ultrasonic cleaner on a plated piece. That is genuinely most of it – the rest is in our care guide.

Can I see an online item in store before buying?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Everything in the online shop is carried in store. If you want to be certain a particular piece is on display at a particular location, message us first and we will check.
